I am a hometown girl! I graduated from St. Paul High School in 2013. In May of 2017 I graduated from Arkansas Tech University with my Bachelor’s Degree.
I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Arkansas Tech University. I am licensed and certified to teach Pre-K through Sixth Grade. I am currently working on my Master’s in Reading.
I have been trained in Phonics First: Structures. I have also attended the PLC At Work Institute and Model Schools Conference. I have completed many hours of professional development over many topics from curriculum to school culture and community. I am currently enrolled in the Arkansas R.I.S.E. Academy receiving training in the knowledge and skills of the science of reading.
I started teaching at St. Paul Elementary in August 2017 for the 2017-2018 school year. This will be my third year with HSD and my third year to teach at St. Paul Elementary. I am currently the Fifth Grade Homeroom teacher and teach Literacy to grades 4th – 6th. Previously I have taught Science and Social Studies to grades 4th – 6th.
I met my husband Justin when I was a junior in high school. We were married in June of 2013 and have been married for a little over 6 years! We have a spoiled rotten Rottweiler named Diesel. We are expecting our first child, a baby boy, in December 2019.
When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, going for rides in our side by side, and being outdoors.
